Is medical cannabis legal in Costa Rica?
Yes. Since July 2025, it has been regulated for medical use under prescription.
Does medical cannabis produce psychoactive effects?
Not necessarily. CBD-rich formulations do not produce psychoactive effects. When THC is used, we prescribe it in minimal doses to avoid any alteration of consciousness or mood.
Is medical cannabis addictive?
In a controlled context, with personalized dosing and professional supervision, the risk of dependence is very low. Moreover, many formulations are based on CBD, which is non-addictive.
What side effects might I experience?
The most common side effects are drowsiness, dry mouth, mild dizziness, and increased appetite. These are temporary, and we will adjust your dosage to minimize them.
Do I need a prescription to buy medical cannabis?
Yes. Only authorized physicians can prescribe it, and the product must be purchased from licensed pharmacies.

Initial Consultation
$120 USD
To book an appointment, a 50% advance payment of the consultation fee is required. The remaining balance is paid at the time of the appointment, which then releases your prescription.
Follow-up Consultations
$80 USD

Cancellation Policies
Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance: full refund or rescheduling at no cost.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance: no refund, but you may reschedule your appointment once at no additional cost.
